All individuals arrested for violating the presidential ordinance in Azad Jammu and Kashmir have been released unconditionally.
Among the released were Sardar Liaqat Hayat Khan, leader of the Jammu Kashmir National Awami Party, and other activists.
Their release was met with celebrations as Sardar Sagheer Khan Advocate, Chairman of the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front, and a large crowd of citizens welcomed the freed leaders.
The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has outrightly rejected the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Presidential Ordinance.
During a meeting held under the chairmanship of Faryal Talpur at Zardari House, Karachi, the PPP's Azad Jammu and Kashmir parliamentary party emphasized standing with the people of Azad Kashmir and protecting their democratic rights.
The meeting, attended by parliamentary leaders such as Sardar Yaqoob Khan and Chaudhry Muhammad Yaseen, denounced the ordinance, calling it contrary to the aspirations and democratic desires of the people.
A spokesperson from Bilawal House stated that the ordinance undermines public rights and the democratic process.
The PPP urged the Azad Kashmir government to immediately revoke the ordinance in the public's interest.
