The Khunjerab Pass is now operational for trade throughout the year, connecting Pakistan with China and Central Asian countries.
The route enables transportation of various goods, including machinery, textiles, electronics, and consumable items. Previously, Pakistan has used this route to transport industrial and agricultural products to Central Asian states like Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan.
The National Logistics Corporation (NLC) has implemented measures at the Sost Dry Port to support cross-border trade. These include installing heating systems and developing infrastructure to maintain trade operations.
The pass provides a transportation route for commercial traffic between the connected countries. This marks a change from previous operational constraints.
