Iconic singer-turned-televangelist Junaid Jamshed is being remembered on his eighth anniversary by thousands of fans on Saturday.
According to details, Jamshed, the iconic voice behind hits like "Aitebar", "Naraz Ho, "Tera Karam Maula" and "Tumhara Aur Mera Naam", left an indelible mark on the music industry and later on spiritual devotion.
Born on September 3, 1964, in Karachi, Junaid began his musical journey during his student days. He rose to fame in 1987 with the formation of the Vital Signs, and delivered the anthem "Dil Dil Pakistan", which has remained a national favorite.
At the peak of his career, Junaid underwent a life-changing transformation. In 2004, he bid farewell to the music world and dedicated himself to spreading Islamic teachings and performing naats.
His soulful renditions like "Dil Badal De" earned him acclaim in his new role as a spiritual guide.
On December 7, 2016, Junaid Jamshed tragically passed away in a plane crash near Havelian while returning from a preaching mission.
His son, Babar Junaid, has often reflected on his father’s unwavering faith and determination to inspire others.
In honour of his contributions, the Pakistani government awarded him the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz in 2007.
