Pakistan fast bowler Hasan Ali expressed on Friday his concerns over off-spinner Sajid Khan's exclusion from the Test squad against South Africa.
Speaking on Samaa Digital programme "Zor Ka Jor", Ali said: "Sajid Khan had performed brilliantly against England. Dropping him after such a performance is unfair and could damage his confidence. Even if not in the playing XI, he should have been part of the squad."
The pacer criticised India's reluctance to visit Pakistan, saying, "India should come to Pakistan and play. Unfortunately, the news we hear is not encouraging. Our crowd wants to see players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. If it were in my hands, I would try my best. Our chairman has also made great efforts, but forcing things is not ideal."
Discussing Pakistan's loss in the third match against Zimbabwe, Ali said, "Instability in the team leads to such defeats. We sent a new team to Zimbabwe and gave opportunities to young players. Losses are part of the process when you experiment."
"Zimbabwe are not an easy side at home. While losing to the USA was an upset, the defeat against Zimbabwe was not. We won the series, and the trophy is with us, so we should be happy," he said.
Regarding central contracts, Ali said: "I received a call saying I was being given a central contract. A few days later, a new selection committee informed me that I would not be receiving it because I was injured."
"If I perform in domestic cricket, I will earn it myself. The stability is essential for progress. If management changes every six months, we will continue to face unexpected losses like the one against the USA," Ali said.
Ali emphasised the importance of consistent efforts, adding, "Whenever I recover from injuries, I focus on domestic cricket and performances. Playing in different conditions teaches you a lot. Hard work always pays off."
