Law enforcement agencies have initiated legal proceedings against seven individuals allegedly involved in spreading provocative and misleading content on social media platforms, according to official sources.
The individuals, all from Karachi, have been identified as Muhammad Sohail, Muhammad Junaid, Sheikh Muhammad Ehsan, Tariq Jamil, Syed Rizwan, Muhammad Ahmad, and Babar Azeem. They are accused of disseminating content deemed harmful through various WhatsApp groups and social media accounts.
Authorities report that the suspects were using multiple digital platforms to circulate what they characterize as state-antagonistic propaganda. This development follows a previous action where 12 individuals were previously booked for similar activities.
The legal process indicates that the individuals will face formal investigation, with sources suggesting comprehensive legal measures are being prepared. The action appears to be part of broader efforts to control the spread of potentially destabilizing digital content.
Law enforcement officials stated that they are committed to addressing such activities through established legal channels, emphasizing the importance of responsible digital communication.
