The International Cricket Council (ICC) was likely to announce the new model for the Champions Trophy on December 7 (Saturday).
Sources divulged that the ICC and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) began showing flexibility after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) maintained a firm stance.
It was reported that a breakthrough was expected, with a hybrid model to be implemented for three years. Under this arrangement, Pakistan would not travel to India for ICC events.
The Indian media claimed that the Pakistani proposal had been accepted, although the ICC’s critical meeting on Thursday in Dubai ended without a formal resolution.
