Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Rana Tahir Iqbal won the by-election for the Punjab Assembly’s constituency PP-139 on Thursday.
The by-election in Sheikhupura saw a contest between Rana Tahir Iqbal and Ijaz Hussain Bhatti, an independent candidate backed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
According to the unofficial results from all 124 polling stations in PP-139, Iqbal secured 44,535 votes, clinching the seat as the MPA.
Ijaz Hussain Bhatti managed to receive 20,093 votes.
