The Riyadh Metro has revealed its ticket pricing structure, ahead of its official launch on December 1, 2024.
Fares for the newly inaugurated metro system will start at four Saudi riyals (SR), offering a range of travel options designed to cater to both casual commuters and those seeking a more premium experience.
The metro, which spans 176 kilometres across six lines, is set to revolutionize public transport in Riyadh. It is integrated with the Riyadh Bus Project, offering seamless travel across the city.
The network includes 85 stations, featuring major hubs such as King Abdullah Financial District, STC, Qasr Al-Hakam, and Western Station. The metro system was inaugurated by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman on November 27, 2024.
Ticket prices are divided into two classes: First Class and Standard Class, each offering different pass options for various durations.
First class pricing:
- Two-hour pass: SR10
- Three-day pass: SR50
- Seven-day pass: SR100
- Thirty-day pass: SR350
Standard class pricing:
- Two-hour pass: SR4
- Three-day pass: SR20
- Seven-day pass: SR40
- Thirty-day pass: SR140
The app, which can be downloaded from mobile app stores, allows passengers to select their destinations and manage travel on both the metro and the bus networks. Passengers can enjoy unlimited travel within the specified timeframes, making it ideal for both daily commuters and tourists.
