Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal on Wednesday said that he feels that the governor’s rule should be imposed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
Expressing his thoughts on Samaa TV, Iqbal took a jibe at the embattled party, saying, “They [PTI leaders] cannot even gather 1,000 people if not in power in KP. The people made their way to Islamabad from KP for the sake of money.”
“The PTI lawyers are continuously delaying the trials. The PTI founder and his leadership are looking to get the NRO,” said Iqbal.
He said, “It is up to the court to grant bail to the PTI founder, not the government.”
“The prisoner who is on the judicial remand cannot be released by the government. The PTI founder’s wife has also intervened in the whole matter as the supreme founder,” he maintained.
Recalling the 26th constitutional amendment, Iqbal said, “The amendment was delayed due to the insistence of the PTI and JUI-F. The PTI founder had rejected the last proposal, on which his [PTI founder] leadership had agreed.”
“The decision about imposing the governor’s rule in KP will be made at the high level,” he maintained.
He stated, “The KP government has left no stone unturned in imposing the martial law.”
