Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir visited Peshawar Corpa in line with the decisions made by the Apex Committee, according to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
During the visit, General Munir was given a comprehensive briefing on the regional security situation and ongoing counter-terrorism operations. The meeting was attended by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister and senior field commanders, reflecting a collaborative approach to addressing security challenges.
The Army Chief paid tribute to the martyrs and ghazis (veterans), highlighting their sacrifices as a testament to the unwavering dedication of the armed forces and law enforcement agencies. “These sacrifices are the cornerstone of our resolve to defend the motherland and ensure peace,” he said.
General Munir appreciated the high morale and readiness of the troops to address threats, reaffirming the Pakistan Army’s determination to root out terrorism and eliminate elements harming national security. “The coordinated operations with law enforcement agencies will continue until long-term stability and security are ensured,” he added.
The COAS emphasized the importance of collective national efforts in combating terrorism, reiterating that thwarting the plans of hostile elements remains a top priority.
Upon his arrival in Peshawar, General Munir was welcomed by the Corps Commander.
