The federal government decided on Wednesday to deploy the Rangers for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) forthcoming protest in Islamabad on November 24.
According to details, the Islamabad chief commissioner had penned the letter to the Ministry of Interior for the deployment of Rangers and FC personnel.
The Rangers and FC will have the power in line with the Anti-Terrorism Act.
Meanwhile, the Rangers and FC will extend their support to the Islamabad police to maintain law and order in the federal capital city.
It is pertinent to note that the embattled PTI had decided to stage the protest on November 24. In connection with the rally, the PTI founder’s sister, Aleema Khan claimed that the deposed prime minister will lead the gathering after his release in the Toshakhana case 2.
Moreover, the Islamabad police have asked for assistance from the Punjab and Sindh police ahead of the PTI’s public gathering in Islamabad on November 24.
2 of the DIGs and 10 DPOs had been summoned from Punjab. Along with every DPO, 500 officers each will be summoned.
Two thousand personnel each from the Sindh and Punjab constabulary have also been called up. Additionally, 4,000 Rangers and 5,000 FC personnel will be on duty in Islamabad.
