The four suspects accused of brutally killing Zara were presented in the District Magistrate’s Court under heavy security.
District Magistrate Poonam granted a four-day physical remand following a request by the Motra police, who had initially sought a 10-day remand to investigate the case further.
The accused will next appear in court on November 22. Zara's inhumane murder shocked Pakistan as her mother-in-law, along with her sister-in-law, brutally butchered the pregnant victim. The accused allegedly chopped the body into dozens of pieces and discarded the remains in an old nullah in a nearby village.
The victim's father, a police officer, suspected foul play after losing contact with his daughter. Upon approaching her in-laws, he was told she had allegedly run away with someone. Suspecting foul play, he immediately called the police and filed an FIR against the accused.
