Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Thursday reacted to the VPN shutdown and slow speed of the internet.
Expressing his thoughts in Karachi, the former foreign minister stated, “We have not been taken on board regarding the outages of the VPN and internet. Those who have made the decision not know anything about the VPN.”
“We would have given suggestions to the government if it had taken us on board regarding the shutdown of the VPN,” he said.
Bhutto-Zardari said, “Now the world is all about the fast internet speed. They say that the government is providing the 4G service. Lies are being made regarding the 4G speed. Now the internet speed is further being slowed.”
“Not only are the Chinese people our guests, but they are also friends. China has an objective to steer Pakistan’s economy towards prosperity and ensure the uplift of the masses,” he added.
He said: “If I were part of the judicial commission, then I would raise the point pertaining to the difference in the constitutional bench.”
Bhutto-Zardari said, “The government has backtracked from its promises made during the time of the legislation.”
He rued: “This country cannot uphold the two types of system. What action the government is taking to end the menace of terrorism?”
Speaking about President Asif Ali Zardari, Bhutto-Zardari said, “President Zardari’s health is now better. He [President Zardari] had faced four fractures on his foot. It will take time for complete health recovery of the president.”
He said, “We are not taking any side, neither of the Republicans nor the Democrats, in American politics. The personal relations are part of the politics. I personally know Donald Trump’s son-in-law and daughter.”
“Donald Trump had invited former prime minister Benazir Bhutto to dinner,” he stated.
Bhutto-Zardari said: “When I was the foreign minister, even then the ties with the US were not good at all. There is a need to bolster the trade ties with the US.”
