Security forces have successfully eliminated four terrorists, including a high-value target, terrorist ring leader Sana alias Baru in a major intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Kech District, Balochistan.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation, which was backed by actionable intelligence, saw an intense firefight between the troops and the terrorists. The deceased terrorists were linked to the so-called Majeed Brigade, a notorious militant group operating in the region.
Among them was Sana, who had been a focal recruitment agent for suicide bombers and was responsible for several deadly attacks. He was on the most-wanted list of law enforcement agencies in Pakistan.
In addition to neutralising the militants, security forces recovered a large cache of weapons and ammunition during the operation. The authorities have initiated a sanitization operation to ensure no remaining terrorists are hiding in the area.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi commended the success of the intelligence-based operation, calling it a significant blow to the militants' efforts to destabilize the region.
Naqvi expressed pride in the dedication and vigilance of Pakistan’s security forces, emphasizing that the entire nation stood behind them in their fight against terrorism.
"The security forces remain committed to safeguarding the peace, stability, and progress of Balochistan and will continue to counter any terrorist activities aimed at undermining the country's security," the Interior Minister stated.
