The Punjab government was looking to plan the artificial rain in Lahore to combat toxic smog.
According to details, the Punjab Environment Department had decided to plan the smog on November 11 (Monday) and November 12 (Tuesday). The overall air quality index (AQI) record in Lahore was 509.
The Gulberg area had turned out to be most polluted with an 812 (AQI). Shadman and Defence Phase V had recorded with 736 and 712, respectively.
Davis Road, Ghazi Road, and Ferozepur Road had also been studded with air pollution.

Separately, Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan on Thursday urged the provincial government to ensure the enforcement of the “smog emergency” across the province amid the increasing air pollution.
According to details, Khan said: “The people are suffering from the health problems due to the smog. The educational and business activities are being suspended across the province.”
“It is up to the government to address the challenges posed by smog. I would like to urge the Punjab government in my personal capacity to address the smog problems,” Khan added.
He said, “The Punjab government needs to take as strict actions as it can to combat smog.”
