Wales is brimming with optimism as they approach the quarterfinals against Argentina, according to Huw Bennett, the head of physical performance for the team.
Bennett confirmed that the entire squad is available for selection, instilling confidence in the camp.
In a sobering blow to Wales, their influential No. 8, Taulupe Faletau, suffered a broken arm during the 43-19 victory over Georgia.
To fill the void left by Faletau's injury, scrum-half Kieran Hardy has been called up to the 33-man squad.
Additionally, fly-half Gareth Anscombe faced a setback with a groyne injury during the warm-up for the final pool match, while full-back Liam Williams sustained a knee injury.
However, Bennett provided reassuring news, stating, "The boys are recovering well. Liam was on crutches after the Georgia game, but that was just a precaution.
Gareth is also recovering well. As far as I'm aware, everyone is available for selection."
Bennett, a veteran of six World Cups, expressed the team's upbeat mood after finishing atop Pool C. "Everyone is in good spirits," he noted. "
After getting 19 points from our group and topping the table, the boys are very happy with what they have accomplished. Now they are ready for the challenge of a quarterfinal."
Wales is set to face Los Pumas in Marseille on Saturday, and Bennett emphasised that Argentina would be formidable opponents despite their inconsistent form.
He described the Argentine team as "a big physical team, passionate," with "X-factor players," and acknowledged that Wales would need to be at their best.
While Bennett acknowledged the physicality of Argentina, he also emphasised Wales' own strength in that regard, stating, "Physicality has been a strength of ours as well. That is a challenge we will be relishing."
As the head of physical performance, Bennett highlighted the months of preparation and rigorous training camps that have gone into shaping the Welsh squad for the World Cup. "This is what it's all about, really," he remarked. "We got together on May 25, and it's about making sure all the work, effort, and sacrifices count as we approach Saturday's crucial quarterfinal."
