Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader Asad Qaiser on Wednesday accused the incumbent government of running a “banana republic”.
In a video statement, the former National Assembly speaker said, “Is this possible to live under the rule of jungle?" The masses are facing hardships to eat bread twice a day.”
He took a swipe at Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, saying, “Is this the democracy on which both Nawaz Sharif and Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari claim to believe? These two [Nawaz and Bilawal] have harmed the country.”
“The country is unfortunately leading towards anarchy,” averred Qaiser.
He maintained: “It is the masses of the country who are having a real power.”

Earlier on Tuesday, National Assembly Opposition Leader Omar Ayub that the incumbent government was “petrified” of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan.
Expressing his thoughts during the NA session, Ayub stated: “The rulers are merely having one target. This is not the government but the anarchy.”
He criticised the incumbent government without the presence of the ministers, saying, “These people are hiding their faces and are not daring enough to face the masses.”
The PTI leader’s speech had sparked uproar in the NA session.
