A local court in Islamabad has reserved its decision on pre-arrest bail pleas filed in six cases by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in one case.
The court, presided over by the additional sessions judge, heard the arguments. The court staff later announced that the verdict on Bushra Bibi's bail request is set to be pronounced on November 18. The court will also hear arguments for the six bail applications of Imran Khan on the same day.
The court also ordered to ensure the appearance of former prime minister Imran Khan through video link at the next hearing. "The jail superintendent should take steps to ensure the attendance of PTI founder through video link," the court said.
During the proceedings, Bushra Bibi got emotional, expressing frustration over what she perceived as injustices within the legal system. "I will not come to this court anymore; there is only injustice here," she told the court, overwhelmed.
She indicated her readiness to face imprisonment, saying, “My blanket and other things are in the car. I am prepared to go to jail whenever you say.”
Bushra Bibi further lamented that she and her husband Imran Khan had been unjustly punished. "There is no justice, I did not come for justice," she told the court and started weeping. "All lawyers, including our own, only waste time."
