The Islamabad High Court has removed the Registrar's Office objections to the bail application of the PTI founder in the Toshakhana reference, directing the Registrar to schedule the case for hearing on Monday.
Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb presided over the hearing, questioning the basis for the Registrar's objections and discussing the procedural nuances surrounding the bail application.
During the proceedings, Justice Aurangzeb addressed the petitioner's counsel, Ayesha Khalid, who clarified that the bail application pertained to the Toshakhana 2 case.
The Registrar's Office had raised concerns, noting that the power of attorney was dated July, while the cause of action was recorded in November.
Responding to the query, Advocate Shah Khawar explained that it is common practice to process power of attorney documentation when a petitioner is in custody.
After a brief review, the court overruled the Registrar’s objections and instructed the office to ensure the case is scheduled promptly.
PTI Founder’s Advocate Shahina Shahab requested notices on the petition, to which Justice Aurangzeb affirmed that the legal process will proceed accordingly.
