Tom Holland, the beloved actor who has embodied Spider-Man for nearly a decade, has shared insights into his future as the iconic superhero following the conclusion of his contract with Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures.
During a recent appearance on The Late Show with Seth Meyers, Holland reflected on his transformative journey since his debut in Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2017.
"I got cast as Spider-Man nearly a decade ago. It changed my life for the better, and I will forever be grateful to Marvel and Sony," the 28-year-old actor remarked.
Holland described the constraints of his previous six-picture deal, stating, "I had to just show up to work, stand where I was told, and read the lines." With the end of this contract, he expressed newfound freedom regarding his future in the role.
"Now that it's over, it means that I have this choice to make of like, should I come back? Should I not come back?" he pondered.
Despite the uncertainty, Entertainment Weekly has confirmed Holland's return to the Spider-Man franchise, with production for the next instalment scheduled to begin next summer.
Fans eagerly anticipate the sequel to 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, which will be helmed by director Destin Daniel Cretton.
He succeeds Jon Watts, who directed Holland's previous three Spider-Man films.
