Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Vice President Rajeev Shukla praised the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Wednesday for hosting the delegation on its two-day visit to Pakistan.
Speaking to the media, Mr. Shukla said, "The Punjab governor hosted the diner in our honour. He made it clear that the BCCI’s visit to Pakistan was merely based on cricketing matters and not related to any sort of political agenda."
In line with the revival of cricket between Pakistan and India on a regular basis, Mr. Shukla said, "It was Pakistan’s demand to see the revival of cricket between the two countries."
"We made it clear to Pakistan that it is up to the Indian government to make any decision in this regard. We will only follow our government’s instructions," Mr Shukla added.
Earlier on Tuesday, the BCCI delegation watched the sixth match of the Asia Cup between Afghanistan and Sri Lanka at Gaddafi Stadium.
BCCI President Roger Binny and Mr Shukla witnessed the seesaw thriller between Afghanistan and Sri Lanka.
– Friendship with Zaka Ashraf –
In a delightful gathering at the Governor's House, Mr Shukla expressed on Monday his deep-rooted friendship with Zaka Ashraf, hailing from years gone by.
He reminisced about his visit to Lahore for the Asia Cup, acknowledging the city's charm and his numerous past visits.
Mr Shukla openly declared his affection for Lahore, highlighting the unique emotions one experiences while being in this city.
