The broadcasters have contacted the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on the forthcoming Champions Trophy.
According to details, the broadcasters had started to give proposals about the matches of India and Pakistan in the mega event. “It would have been to hold one of the three fixtures of India at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi instead of holding all three in Lahore,” said the broadcasters.
The Indian media reported that the BCCI had contacted the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on the proposals of the broadcasters.
The PCB had assured the BCCI to provide the best facilities and relaxing environment to the Indian team.
“In connection with the Indian team’s facility and visa policy, it was decided to hold the fixtures in one venue,” the PCB told the BCCI according to the Indian media.
“If both the Indian team and the spectators will remain in one place, then it would be much better. However, if you want to play in Rawalpindi, we [PCB] will even you there best facilities,” the PCB said.
“Indian teams are scheduled to play their third fixture of the Champions Trophy after the 10-day break, so Indians can go to Delhi or Chandigarh for training. Subsequently, the Indian team can return to Pakistan on the day of the match or rightly before the game,” the PCB stated.
According to the Indian media reports, the PCB had vowed to take care of the Indian cricket team with great commitment.
The PCB maintained: “Giving the proposal to do training in Chandigarh or Delhi has nothing to do with the security issues. This proposal is only given for the relaxation of the Indian cricket team.”
