Security forces conducted successful raids in District Pishin and District Zhob, Balochistan, neutralising the threat posed by militants of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) - also referred to as Khwarij - the military's media wing reported on Saturday.
According to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation in Pishin on October 18 led to the arrest of five militants. A large cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives, including three suicide vests, was seized during the raid.
ISPR stated that the apprehended militants were involved in multiple terrorist attacks and were plotting further assaults on security forces and civilians.
In a separate operation on October 17 in District Zhob, security forces engaged in an exchange of fire with militants, resulting in the killing of two Khwarij. A substantial amount of arms and ammunition was recovered during the subsequent clearance operation.
"The security forces remain resolute in their commitment to eradicating terrorism from Pakistan and protecting innocent civilians," the ISPR statement added.
