A policeman was martyred and another injured when their mobile was attacked with a remote-controlled bomb on the Elum Mountain in Buner district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Police and security forces were carrying out a search operation against terrorist on the Elum Mountain when the police patrol meant to provide food to the forces came under a remote-controlled bomb attack.
One policeman was martyred and another was injured. The police besieged the area after the attack.
Earlier on October 4, the security forces had responded to terrorists who stormed a police station in Dera Ismail Khan.
Resultantly, an exchange of fire took place between terrorists and police. A heavy contingent of police and security forces had been deploted for Kolachi.
On September 15 also, security forces had intercepted militants in the Abdul Khel area between Lakki Marwat and Dera Ismail Khan districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. As per media reports, no loss of life was reported, however, firing and explosions were heard in the area.
