Joe Jonas, one-third of the Jonas Brothers and Sophie Turner, known for her role in "Game of Thrones," have officially announced their divorce after four years of marriage.
The 34-year-old singer filed for divorce in Miami-Dade County court, stating that "the marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken," according to court documents reviewed by USA TODAY.

In a joint statement posted on their Instagram accounts, the couple addressed the divorce, emphasizing that it was a mutual decision. "After four wonderful years of marriage, we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage," they wrote. "There are many speculative narratives as to why, but, truly, this is a united decision, and we sincerely hope everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children."
Joe Jonas has requested "shared parental responsibilities" for their two daughters, as well as enforcement of their prenuptial agreement from April 2019.
The divorce petition highlights the importance of a parenting plan addressing all parenting issues and providing for frequent and continuing contact with both parents.
Their daughters include 3-year-old Willa and a second daughter born in July 2022, whose name has not been disclosed. The children have been residing with Joe Jonas in Miami and other locations in the United States.
The couple originally tied the knot in a Las Vegas ceremony officiated by an Elvis impersonator in May 2019, following the Billboard Music Awards. They later celebrated with a more extravagant wedding in France in July 2019, surrounded by family, friends, and fellow stars.
Joe Jonas is currently on tour with the Jonas Brothers, performing more than 90 shows across 20 countries. Meanwhile, Sophie Turner was recently in England filming the upcoming British TV series "Joan."
