President Asif Ali Zardari has emphasized the need to transform Pakistan-Saudi Arabia relations into a long-term strategic and economic partnership, aiming to bring the two brotherly nations even closer.
During a meeting with a high-level Saudi delegation, led by Saudi Minister for Investment Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih, President Zardari reiterated Pakistan's unwavering commitment to its historic ties with Saudi Arabia and to stand in solidarity with the Kingdom.
Speaking at the Presidency, Zardari underscored the deep respect Pakistan holds for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and praised the visionary leadership of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. He also expressed admiration for Saudi Arabia's remarkable progress under Vision 2030, highlighting and expressing gratitude for the Kingdom's continued support for Pakistan during challenging times.
The president also said he was happy to witness the progress and prosperity of Saudi Arabia. The Saudi delegation's visit comes as both nations seek to bolster their cooperation in key sectors.
Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih acknowledged Pakistan's strategic geographical significance and its vast potential in natural resources and renewable energy. He announced Saudi Arabia's plans to invest in Pakistan's infrastructure and mining sectors, with 25 agreements set to be signed across various industries to boost economic cooperation between the two brotherly nations.
The Saudi minister expressed optimism that these agreements would mark a new era of collaboration between the two countries, with special focus on increasing joint ventures in agriculture and information technology.
The meeting, attended by senior Pakistani ministers and officials, including Minister for Petroleum Musadik Malik, Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan, and Saudi Ambassador Nawaf Saeed Al Malki, reaffirmed both countries' commitment to enhancing cooperation in economy, mining, and technology.
