Another case has been registered against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Founder Imran Khan and leaders Ali Amin Gandapur and Azam Swati in Islamabad.
The case, filed at the Sangjani police station, has brought the total number of cases against PTI leaders to 15.
The first information report (FIR) includes 12 provisions, including charges of terrorism, kidnapping, robbery, attempted murder, and snatching of official weapons. The case also names 2,500 unidentified PTI workers for their alleged involvement in the incident.
According to the FIR, Imran Khan misused the facilities he has been allowed in jail. The PTI leadership, including Ali Amin Gandapur, misused government resources after being instigated by party founder Imran Khan from jail.
Azam Swati is also accused of funding protesters who clashed with law enforcement during the recent protest in Islamabad. The FIR states that the protesters, allegedly acting on the directives of the PTI leadership, snatched weapons, wireless devices, and tear gas shells from the police.
It further states that the demonstrators opened fire on police officers with intent to kill, forcing the officers to seek refuge behind trees to save their lives.
