Indian fans of Pakistani actor Fawad Khan have reason to celebrate as the actor is set to make his much-anticipated Bollywood comeback in a romantic comedy titled 'Abir Gulaal'. This film marks his first on-screen pairing with actress Vaani Kapoor.
Fawad, who has been absent from Indian cinema for nearly eight years following the 2016 ban on Pakistani artists after the Uri attack, will return with this new project, which is set against the stunning backdrop of London.
Filming is scheduled to begin on September 29 under the direction of Aarti S Bagdi.
Speaking about the film’s storyline, Fawad revealed that it follows two individuals who, while unintentionally helping each other heal, find love blossoming in the process. The filmmakers are eager to tap into Fawad’s global fan base, confident that audiences will warmly receive the film, which they say will present Fawad in his most charming role to date.
The chemistry between Fawad and Vaani is another aspect the team is excited about. Produced by Vivek B Agrawal, Avantika Hari, and Rakesh Sippy, 'Abir Gulaal' will be filmed in the UK throughout October and November.
The soundtrack will feature six original tracks created by a leading Bollywood composer, to be performed by some of the industry's top vocal talents.
