Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has reiterated his stance that the United States should withdraw from the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, criticizing the Biden administration's handling of the situation.
During a speech in Georgia on Tuesday, Trump asserted that President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris lack a coherent strategy to extricate the U.S. from what he termed an unnecessary entanglement.
"Biden and Kamala got us into this war in Ukraine, and now they can't get us out. They can't get us out," Trump declared, emphasizing his belief that the current administration has failed to effectively navigate the complexities of the conflict.
While the U.S. does not have troops deployed in Ukraine, it has provided substantial military and humanitarian aid, amounting to billions of dollars.
Trump's remarks come amidst growing concerns among some Americans regarding the continued financial support for Ukraine.
"I think that we're stuck in that war unless I'm president. I'll get it done. I'll get it negotiated, I'll get out. We gotta get out," Trump asserted, framing his potential presidency as a solution to the ongoing conflict.
He challenged Biden's commitment, stating, "Biden says 'we will not leave until we win.' What happens if they win?"
