Pakistan's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Munir Akram said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's meeting with United States President Joe Biden is not scheduled at the UNGA.
Expressing his thoughts, Akram said: "The premier will address the UNGA. PM Shehbaz Sharif will meet UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. We are looking forward to diplomacy, where it is needed."
He said: "We want to address the mistakes of the Afghan government. We are having the collective policy on Afghanistan, which will be continued."
“There is a need to continue contacts with Afghanistan despite having too many differences from its policies,” said Akram.
He said, “There are many problems associated with Afghanistan, but we are having contact with the people of Afghanistan.”
Akram stated: “The Afghan people should not bear the brunt of the mistakes made by the Afghan government.”
“Pakistan is optimistic to hold talks with the Taliban despite having the differences,” said Akram.

Earlier, it was reported that PM Shehbaz reached London for a short tour ahead of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
According to details, the premier will leave for the United States from London on September 23. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), PM Shehbaz said: “Departing for New York to represent Pakistan at the 79th UN General Assembly. Looking forward to a busy week full of engagements.”
“During our interactions, we will take up global issues, promoting peace, development, and climate action,” he said.
“We will present Pakistan’s perspective to the world,” the premier added.
