A police constable was martyred in the Islampura area of Lahore following a firing incident by unidentified motorcycle riders.
The incident occurred during a routine patrol when the police officers signaled two suspicious individuals on a motorcycle to stop.
According to police, the suspects opened fire on the security team as soon as they were asked to halt. Constable Kashif Arshad was critically injured in the attack and immediately rushed to Mian Munshi Hospital. Despite efforts to save his life, Constable Arshad succumbed to his injuries.
The assailants managed to flee the scene after the shooting.
The police have launched an investigation to apprehend the culprits and bring them to justice.
