Two police officers were martyred in a bomb explosion targeting a police mobile in the Kuchlak area, located in the suburbs of Quetta.
The blast, caused by an improvised explosive device (IED), claimed the lives of assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Zainuddin and constable Tahir Ali, according to police officials.
The explosion, which was remote-controlled, occurred near a police mobile while it was on patrol. The bomb had been planted in the ground, with the intention of targeting the police vehicle.
The injured officers were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. The bodies of the two martyrs were also transported to the hospital by the police.
Following the explosion, personnel from the Bomb Disposal Squad, along with police and Frontier Corps (FC) officials, arrived at the scene to collect evidence. An investigation is underway to determine the full circumstances surrounding the attack.
