A week ago, PIA's deputy station manager in the UK, Iqbal Javed Bajwa, resigned after it was revealed that his FA certificate from the Lahore board was fake.
A PIA spokesperson confirmed the resignation, stating that Bajwa was asked to step down following the verification of his fraudulent academic credentials.
Sources disclosed that Bajwa -- who was introduced by PIA's finance manager in Birmingham on July 30 -- initially resisted resigning despite the discovery of his fake degree. However, he eventually resigned under pressure from his family.
The PIA spokesperson reiterated that the airline maintains a zero-tolerance policy regarding falsified credentials and that appropriate action was taken in Bajwa’s case.
