A case has been registered against the leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) at the Noon Police Station in Islamabad, following allegations of an attack on law enforcement officials, vandalism, and causing injuries to police officers during a recent protest.
The first information report (FIR) details charges under the Anti-Terrorism Act, as well as provisions related to assaulting police and damaging property.
According to the FIR, a copy of which is available with Samaa TV, PTI workers, acting on the instructions of party leaders Shoaib Shaheen and Aamir Mughal, blocked roads and engaged in violent confrontations with the police. The text of the FIR alleges that workers used sticks and stones to attack law enforcement officers, resulting in injuries and the theft of an anti-riot gun from the police.

Meanwhile, National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq has expressed his strong displeasure with Islamabad's Inspector General of Police Ali Nasir Rizvi over the arrests of PTI lawmakers on Monday night, demanding an explanation for the actions taken inside the Parliament House. He directed to take measures to ensure the release of the arrested members, sources said.
"Why the members were arrested inside the Parliament House? This is intolerable. Conduct a detailed inquiry into the entire matter," the speaker directed.
Speaker Sadiq made it clear that while the police holds the authority to detain individuals outside the parliament, any arrests within Parliament Lodges and the Parliament House are "unacceptable" and will not be tolerated.
