At least 23 Indian Army personnel reportedly gone missing after they were caught in a flash flood in Sikkim.
Indian media reported that the flash flood occurred in the Teesta River in Lachen valley due to a sudden cloud burst over Lhonak Lake in North Sikkim, the Trishakti Corps of the Eastern Command said in a statement.
The Indian media also reported that some army establishments along the valley have been affected and efforts are on to confirm details.
"23 personnel have been reported missing and some vehicles are reported submerged under the slush. Search operations are underway," the Indian media quoted an officer.
