Punjab has witnessed the surge in the cases of pink eye (conjunctivitis) infection amid the monsoon rain on Tuesday.
According to details, 907 cases of the pink eye infection had been reported during the last 24 hours in the public hospitals. Jhang had reported 106 cases, while Multan had reported 93 cases. Bhakkar and DG Khan had reported 83 and 41 cases, respectively.
Lahore had reported 11 cases within 24 hours. Meanwhile, 13,473 cases had been reported in the public hospitals during the last 30 days.
According to the Punjab health department, the cases of the pink eye infection had dropped up to 5 per cent in the ongoing year.
Last year, over 288,000 cases of the pink eye infection were reported from January to September 2023.
The doctors had asked the masses to go in isolation if they suffered from the pink eye infection.
The medical experts had also urged the people to wash hands frequently for the prevention of the pink eye infection.
