Former New Zealander legendary batter Brendon McCullum was appointed as England’s white-ball head coach after the red-ball format on Tuesday.
According to details, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) had also extended the McCullum’s contract till 2027. McCullum will spearhead England in both the red and white-ball formats as the head coach from January 2025.
McCullum will coach England during the forthcoming white-ball assignments, including the England tour to India and the ICC Champions Trophy, slated to happen in Pakistan, next February.
Prior to this, McCullum had been appointed as England Test coach and played pivotal role in revamping England’s playing strategy, which is widely known as the ‘Bazball’ approach.
Meanwhile, Marcus Trescothick had been appointed as England’s interim head coach for the upcoming series against Australia and West Indies.
