Adele has announced that she will be taking an indefinite break from music after completing her Las Vegas residency later this year.
Following the conclusion of her Munich residency on Saturday, she informed fans that they won't hear from her again until after her "Weekends With Adele" shows in Las Vegas wrap up this fall.
"I've truly enjoyed performing ... it's been three years now, which is the longest I've ever done and likely the longest I'll ever do. But with only 10 shows left in my Las Vegas residency, after that, I won’t be seeing you for a very long time, and I'll hold you dear in my heart throughout my break," Adele shared.
She continued, "I'll treasure these shows and every performance I've done over the past three years, keeping them close to my heart forever. It's been an amazing journey, but I need some rest."
The visibly emotional singer added, "I've spent the last seven years building a new life for myself, and now I want to live it. I'll miss you all terribly."
Adele's Munich residency, which began on August 2 at the Messe Munchen open-air venue, marked her first performance in mainland Europe since 2016.
Her Las Vegas residency, which started in November 2022, will conclude with her final 10 shows at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace from October 25 to November 23. By the end of this run, she will have completed 100 shows, despite some rescheduled dates and adjustments.
This announcement follows previous comments from Adele about taking a break from performing and recording. In a July interview with the German outlet ZDF, Adele revealed her plans to focus on "other creative things" during her hiatus. "I don’t have any plans for new music at all. I want a big break after this, and I think I want to explore other creative avenues, just for a little while," she said.
