In the latest incident of religious intolerance in India, a video has emerged showing Hindu extremists attacking an elderly Muslim man for allegedly transporting beef. The extremists verbally abused and physically assaulted the senior citizen in the disturbing footage.
This is just one of the numerous reports of atrocities committed against religious minorities in India, where the situation for Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, and other vulnerable groups has deteriorated under the Hindu nationalist government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Minorities in India are facing severe security threats and financial risks due to the discriminatory policies and tacit support for extremist groups by the Modi administration. No community, be it Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, or Dalits, is safe in the current climate of rising Hindu fanaticism.
The neighboring countries are also growing increasingly concerned about the worsening condition of minorities in India. The question remains: How long will the Modi government continue its state-sponsored terrorism against its own citizens?
