Pakistan former captain Misbahul Haq said on Friday that he was having the "old connection" with the Wolves side as the 50-year-old legend ready to brace up the challenge posed by the forthcoming Champions One-Day Cup in the domestic cricket circuit.
Addressing the press conference, Haq said: "We are looking forward to reducing the gap between domestic and international cricket. We are having different teams, studded with the U-19 and senior players."
He underlined the importance of the technical player, saying, "The technical player can adopt the conditions in all three formats."
Emphasising the need for focusing on strike rate, Haq said: "It is important to improve the strike rate to compete with the world.".
"There is a wire on the players to play aggressive cricket, apart from boosting their morale," Haq said.
Drawing a line of demarcation between the domestic cricket of different countries and Pakistan, the former batter said: "The domestic performers from different countries perform well in the international cricket arena, but not our players."
