Tragedy struck on the Makran Coastal Highway as a bus carrying pilgrims from Iran to Punjab plunged into a ditch, resulting in the deaths of 10 people and injuries to more than 32 others.
According to police reports, the bus was en route to Punjab when the accident occurred.
The pilgrims involved in the crash are reported to be from the Lahore and Gujranwala areas of Punjab. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident, while rescue operations continue at the scene.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Lasbela, Naveed Alam, reported that a bus carrying pilgrims from Iran to Punjab overturned near Buzzi Top after the driver lost control due to overspeeding.
District Commissioner (DC) Lasbela, Humaira Baloch, stated that a rescue operation is underway, with assistance from the Basic Health Unit (BHU) Rasmalan, MERC 1122 Rasmalan, and the Coast Guard.
Seven of the injured have been transported to DHQ Uthal in Lasbela, according to DC Baloch. She also confirmed that 11 bodies have been recovered so far.
DC Baloch mentioned the possibility of additional injuries or casualties trapped beneath the bus, and a crane has been arranged to assist with the rescue efforts.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have expressed heartfelt condolences over the loss of Zaireen's lives in a bus accident on Makran Coastal Highway.
In their condolence message, they commiserated with the bereaved families of deceased and directed the relevant authorities to provide timely medical aid and care to the injured.
The President prayed for high ranks of the deceased in the hereafter and speedy recovery of the injured.

Meanwhile, Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan and Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz in their separate messages have expressed sorrow over loss of precious lives in a bus accident near Lasbela.
In their messages, they expressed condolence and sympathized with bereaved families. They prayed for early recovery of the injured.
