The poliovirus threat looms in Lahore as the World Health Organisation (WHO) has confirmed the detection of the virus in the sewage samples of the Punjab provincial capital.
Sources divulged that the poliovirus was detected in the sample from Gulshan Ravi disposal station.
The samples were sent to the WHO on August 7 for the examination. The anti-polio campaign will be kicked off with the detection of the poliovirus from the sample.
According to the country's polio eradication program, the anti-polio drive will be launched on September 10 in the specific areas.
