A case has been registered over the deadly attack on police personnel in the Sadiqabad area of Rahim Yar Khan on August 22.
The case, filed on the complaint of Inspector Amjad Rashid at the Machhka police station, names 131 criminals associated with the notorious Kush, Selra and Indhar gangs, including key figures Lakhi, Mani, and Guddu Kush, who led the attack on policemen. The many charges include terrorism, murder, and kidnapping.
The incident occurred when police officers, returning from a camp, were ambushed near the residence of Shahu Kush. The assailants, armed with rocket launchers, G3 rifles and other weapons, launched a brutal attack.
Despite the police's attempt to retaliate, the fierce exchange of gunfire resulted in the martyrdom of 12 police officers and injuries to nine others.

The dacoits also managed to abduct a policeman, Ahmed Nawaz, and took him with them.
During the confrontation, the police managed to kill one of the attackers, Bashir Shar, while Guddu Kush sustained injuries. The gang members, however, managed to escape, taking with them official police weapons. The attackers also caused significant damage to police vehicles and other equipment with their rocket launcher.
Authorities are now conducting an intensive search operation to apprehend the culprits involved in this heinous crime. The incident has shocked the local community and raised concerns about the escalating violence in the region.

On August 22, at least 12 police personnel were martyred in an attack on two police vehicles by robbers in Rahim Yar Khan’s Sadiqabad tehsil. The police personnel were returning from duty in the Fatehpur Basti Salman area when their vehicles were ambushed.
According to sources, there were over 15 police officers in the two vehicles, making it a massive targeted attack. District Police Officer (DPO) Imran Ahmad confirmed the incident, stating that the robbers attacked when one of the police mobiles broke down near Fatehpur.
He added that a team from across the district has been dispatched to the site to assist in the investigation.
