The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) of Punjab has announced that monsoon rains are expected to begin across Punjab today and continue through August 12.
The forecast predicts significant rainfall, with most districts in south Punjab experiencing heavy rain accompanied by wind and thunder on August 10 and 11.
The affected areas include major cities such as Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Murree, Galiyat, Jhelum, Multan, and Dera Ghazi Khan. Additionally, Bahawalpur, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, and Gujrat divisions are also expected to see monsoon rains during this period.
The PDMA has issued a weather alert to relevant administrations across Punjab to prepare for the anticipated conditions. Residents in these areas should brace for possible disruptions and remain vigilant.

Meanwhile, in Islamabad, the weather is expected to remain hot and humid, but rain is still likely in various parts of the city.
In Balochistan, the weather will be hot and humid in most districts, with heavy rain expected in Qalat, Khuzdar, Zhob, Musakhel, and Qila Saifullah during the night.
Sindh will see partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with a chance of light rain in Mithi, Tharparkar, Umarkot, Sanghar, Khairpur, Kashmore, Sukkur, and Ghotki. Coastal areas of Sindh may experience cloudy skies and light rain at isolated locations.
The northwestern regions, including Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, and Mansehra, are also on alert for normal to heavy rain at various places. Similarly, rain is expected in Attock, Chakwal, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, and other cities, as well as in Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, Multan, and nearby areas during the night.
The weather department warns of potential heavy rain in Loralai, Bolan, Naseerabad, Jafarabad, Dera Bugti, and Barkhan, urging residents to stay updated on weather alerts and take necessary precautions.
