After registering a decrease in the previous session, gold prices in Pakistan surged on Wednesday, reflecting the uptick in international rates.
The price of gold per tola climbed by Rs2,300, bringing it to Rs252,800, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).
In the local market, the price of 10-gram gold rose by Rs1,972, reaching Rs216,735. This increase comes after a Rs500 drop in the gold price per tola on Tuesday.
The international market also saw a rise in gold prices, with the rate per ounce standing at $2,413, including a $20 premium, after gaining $22 during the day.
Meanwhile, silver rates remained unchanged at Rs2,920 per tola.
On Thursday, the gold price per tola increased by Rs4,600, hitting an all-time high of Rs254,000 in the local market, marking a significant surge in a short span.
