The US Ambassador to Pakistan Donald Blome emphasized the enduring partnership between Pakistan and the United States, highlighting the mutual desire for both nations to thrive.
Ambassador Bloom addressed various aspects of the bilateral relationship, including economic cooperation, security, and investment opportunities.
Bloom acknowledged the current economic crisis in Pakistan, stressing the need for significant reforms to address the challenges. He pointed out that Pakistan will require approximately $3 million to overcome these difficulties.
Despite the economic hurdles, Bloom identified Pakistan as a significant investment opportunity, noting that the country's exports to the United States are higher than to any other country.
In 2023, bilateral trade exceeded $9 billion, with Pakistan exporting more than $6 billion worth of goods to the US. The US Ambassador praised Pakistan's efforts in combating terrorism, describing them as commendable.
He assured that there are no major security concerns in Pakistan at the moment, highlighting the country's achievements in maintaining stability.
Bloom reaffirmed America's commitment to helping Pakistan at every level, acknowledging the sacrifices made by Pakistan in the fight against terrorism.
