Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) led Punjab government cautioned citizens for traffic violations as from now onward they would receive a challan with proof and a heavy fine using Artificial intelligence.
Artificial intelligence and modern electronic traffic policing have been introduced in Punjab and the process of checking every smog-emitting vehicle with modern cameras has begun.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz directed transport authorities to nab vehicles emitting ‘excessive smoke’ and issue them challans through Punjab Safe City Cameras equipped with modern technology in Lahore.
AI technology is being used to detect the amount of smoke emitted by vehicles, motorcycles, and auto-rickshaws with modern cameras. The Lahore Traffic Police have issued hundreds of challans for excessive smoke emissions from trucks, buses, cars, wagons, auto-rickshaws, and motorcycles.
A series of photos and videos of vehicles emitting smoke has also started in Lahore. An image of a vehicle emitting smoke is included in the electronic ticket.
Senior Minister Punjab, Maryam Aurangzeb said both environmental protection and the implementation of traffic rules are being ensured with modern technology and cameras.
