The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) of Punjab has forecast heavy rains in most districts of Punjab, with strong winds and thunderstorms expected across the province.
The monsoon rain spell is predicted to continue until July 20, according to a spokesperson.
Significant rainfall is anticipated in several key cities, including Lahore, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, and Rawalpindi. The PDMA has assured that the water flow in Punjab’s rivers remains at a normal level, reducing the immediate risk of flooding.
PDMA Director General Irfan Ali Kathia has issued instructions to all agencies concerned to stay alert and be prepared to respond swiftly to any emergencies resulting from the heavy rains.
