The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) remains resolute in its stance that all matches of the Champions Trophy will be held in Pakistan.
According to sources, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) remains firm in its stance with the slogan, “Pakistan’s event, in Pakistan.”
The PCB is actively preparing to host all eight teams across three venues, investing significantly in upgrading stadiums for the Champions Trophy.
Despite discussions about a Hybrid Model and Plan B, the PCB is unwavering in its preparations and plans to strongly assert its position in the upcoming ICC meeting.
PCB sources emphasize that while it is the ICC’s responsibility to have contingency plans, Pakistan's focus is on maintaining its position. They argue that, aside from India, all participating teams have previously played in Pakistan, making India's reluctance to visit a weak stance.
Sources further indicated that if India refuses to come to Pakistan, the Pakistani team will reciprocate by not participating in the 2026 T20 World Cup in India.
The PCB is expected to adopt a tougher stance compared to previous years, making it difficult for matches to be relocated from Pakistan in 2024.
