US-based rights group "Sikhs For Justice" has condemned the assassination attempt on the life of President Trump and equated the mindset of the former President's shooter with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi who boasts of killing his political opponents, at home and abroad.
General Counsel to Sikhs For Justice, Gurpatwant Singh Pannun stated "We, the pro-Khalistan Sikhs who are seeking a Referendum for the independence of Punjab from the Indian occupation, condemn the assassination attempt on President Trump".
"There is no place for political violence in a democracy. The political differences should always be settled through votes not violence", added Pannun.
Just like the shooter of President Trump, India's Modi government assassinated Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada and attempted "Murder For Hire" in New York to silence the dissenting political opinion - the Khalistan Referendum movement.
Instead of allowing and appreciating the democratic campaign of the Khalistan Referendum which seeks to resolve the political dispute through ballot, the Indian Government is using political violence and transnational repression against pro-Khalistan Sikhs in Canada and USA.
"We hope that after this heinous political violence against President Trump, the American administration will more sternly respond to the use of political violence by domestic and foreign elements such as India's transnational repression against pro-Khalistan Sikhs in the USA", added Pannun.
